Amazing Weekend

I had the best time this weekend.  All my girlfriends came into town to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Vivian and showered her with so many gifts.  It is such a wonderful feeling knowing that my daughter is surrounded by so much love and support.
I'll post some more photos once my mom and sister have time to send them to me.

One Hot Mama

By no means do I think I look hot right now.  I'm a hormonal hot mess right now.  I wake up every morning sweaty and it's not because I'm dreaming of McSteamy.  I slept last night with just undergarments on and no covers and still found a way to leak from my pores.  I don't know how women carry children in the summer time.  I'm miserable right now and the highs are only in the 80's.  To top things off, this morning I came into work to find out the A/C is broken. I'm typing this blog as I roast like a pot belly pig...all you need to do is stick an apple in my mouth to complete this picture.

One another note I went shopping with my mother yesterday and had a great time.  I bought a dress and shirt and some other necessities for the baby.  She is going to be here in about 5 weeks...I can't wait to meet her!

Not so swell

I noticed about two weeks ago that my fingers were starting to swell.  My fingers have always swelled in the past when I would walk or run for too long but now they just stay plump.  I figured it was time to retire my engagement ring and just wear my wedding band which is a little looser on my finger.  I fear now that I will have to toss the wedding band goodbye as well.  My fingers now look fat and stubby.  Would it be weird to wear gloves until Vivian's arrival? Probably.

Finger swelling right now is the least of my issues.  My feet have now become my own worst enemy.  My long slender finger toes now look like bloated piggies who have made one to many trips to the market.  For most people they go up 1/2 a shoe size during pregnancy but I'm not sure what I'm going to do.  My Scandinavian foot is already wedged into a size 10 and they don't make 1/2 sizes after 10.  The idea of buying an 11 size shoe is frightening to me.  With a foot that big you'd think I play in the WNBA.  I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to discuss this swelling issue and make sure my swelling looks normal to her because I know this does not look normal to me.

The Dr. is in!

I met Vivian's pediatrician this afternoon and feel very confident that I have met the best doctor for us.  His name is Dr. Steven Crow and he is wonderful.  He even has a nurse practitioner that makes house calls and will come to our house to meet Viv and do her 2 day check up in her bedroom.  He is conveniently located right by our house and doesn't have strict office hours.  He said he has been known to stay at the office until 11pm visiting with patients.  I feel so fortunate to have such a wonderful OBGYN and Pediatrician.  Now we just have to wait for Miss Vivian to make her entrance into the world...and if she is anything like her mother she will make quite an entrance.
