31 weeks

Everyone who doesn't see me on a daily basis has been asking to see belly photos.  I try to get out of the way when pictures are being taken but thought I need at least one to mark this journey.  Me at 31 weeks.

So this friend of mine...

It still amazes me the things people say to pregnant women.  I know I have stuck my foot in my mouth a time or two but people really should stop and think before they speak.  I have stopped counting the number of times I have heard a horror story from someone about pregnancy.  Either it happened to them or it happened to someone they know.  Do you really think that telling me your horrific story makes me feel better about the inevitable delivery?  Someone stopped me in the kitchen at work and asked me how far along I was.  I told them 30 weeks and counting and smiled.  The women then proceeds to tell me that it could be sooner than later because one of her friends went into labor at  32 weeks and her baby had to spend three weeks in the NICU.  Thanks for that.  Do you mind if I put some cream into my decaf before you finish this riveting story?  No, I don't want to hear every horror story out there about my private parts being stretched from ear to ear and all that can go wrong.  If something goes wrong when the time comes then it does...there is nothing I can do about that now and making me stress over it doesn't help the matter.  So please, unless you have a wonderful story about the joys of labor keep your stories to yourself.  Feel free to share them after Viv's arrival.
